Fair Tax Week takes place from 5th – 13th June 2021 and as a business who has been accredited with the Fair Tax Mark, we are keen to shout about it and help to push the issue of companies paying fair tax further up the government and public agenda.
Jerba Campervans believes that tax really matters, it is vital for funding public services and for creating a balanced and fairer economy for everyone. It’s important in creating a level playing field within business by encouraging all firms to pay their fair share of tax and not to continually seek loopholes where profits can be sheltered away. To become an accredited member of the Fair Tax Mark a company must be 100% open with its tax affairs, it must provide full details of all directors and produce a detailed account of exactly how much tax it is paying and precisely how it is calculated.
As part of Fair Tax Week our co-founder and Managing Director, Simon Poole, has been invited on the 9th June to give a presentation to a group of cross-party MSP’s at Holyrood, the home of the Scottish parliament, to highlight the importance of the issue of corporate tax avoidance and demonstrate the true benefits to both business sales and customer trust from being a fully accredited member. Our hope is that politicians start to take the fair payment of corporation tax more seriously and they seek out ways to pressure those companies that abuse loopholes to act responsibly and to start to contribute properly to the funding of our vital public services.

The Fair Tax Mark was launched in February 2014 and is now one of the underpinning objectives of the Good Business Charter, it seeks to encourage and recognise organisations that pay the right amount of corporation tax at the right time in the right place.
As an independent body the Fair Tax Mark is funded by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, the Friends Provident Foundation, the Network for Social Change, the Barrow Cadbury Trust and the Joffe Charitable Trust.
